Dear all, decisions this past weekend by our Governor and guidance from our Bishops means doing even more things differently for Trinity Church. As of today, our parish building is closing until it is reasonable for us to gather after this pandemic. As such our clergy and staff will now be working from home. Be assured you can reach us by email, a phone call or text message and our commitment is to respond to you within 24 hours. Vestry members and clergy will also be “sharing the Peace” by reaching out to you to keep in touch by phone and email. With technology and imagination, we are experimenting with “Being Church Now.” For example, Matt will offer a Facebook Live reflection every Tuesday at noon. The weekly enews will be emailed on Thursdays at 4:00pm. Jenny will offer a virtual “Happy Hour” video on Fridays at 5:00pm where she will respond to questions you email her during the week. We will continue providing virtual worship experiences for you, with the exception being only one priest will now be present for each service. We plan to offer virtual Holy Week services for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. And we will celebrate the Resurrection on Easter Sunday morning through virtual worship! In addition, there will soon be virtual prayer options on our website for Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, Compline and additional prayers intended to offer spiritual care, comfort, hope and support.
It's been said by others and is now truer than ever—it is impossible to close the Church. While our doors may be closed to ensure we “Stay Safe and Stay Home” we are connected in a much bigger way. We are the Body of Christ and nothing can separate us from the love of God and the love we have for one another and our neighbors. So “keep the faith” as our Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry, reminds us. Please continue to support Trinity Church financially. Pray for one another. Visit our website often: https://www.trinitynewtownct.org/being-church-now And, know that we are all in this together and we will get through it, with God’s help, together.
