Worship @ 9:30 am on Sundays
We invite you to join us online on Sundays at 9:30 as we worship God. Watch the service on our homepage or on Facebook. We listen to ancient words of scripture and reflect on how they apply to our life today. Please join us to pray; we are united in heart, mind and Spirit. Our live-streaming worship offers comfort to all who continue to shelter safely at home.
When conditions permit we will have in-person worship for those comfortable coming into the church. Check for announcement on the homepage and in the enews (sign up here). Seating is limited to 50 people and registration is required. Read the Guidelines for In Person Worship. We will monitor virus levels around us and determine on a week-by-week basis whether to invite you to the Sanctuary. Our most fervent prayer is that ALL in our Trinity family remain safe. Those over the age of 65, those with health conditions or compromised immune systems, all who are most vulnerable to the effects of the virus … we encourage you to prayerfully consider your safety and remain at home.

Special Services
The Episcopal Church in Connecticut Convention Worship
We joined the Episcopal Church in Connecticut for our diocesan-wide worship service, commemorating the Feast of St. Luke the Evangelist on October 18, 2020. This service of Spiritual Eucharist was the culminating worship event for our 236th Annual Convention, led by members from all across the diocese. Music provided by Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, Marianne Vogel, director of music. The Rt. Rev. Ian T. Douglas, Celebrant; the Rt. Rev. Laura J. Ahrens, preacher.
THE INVITATION
This is the table, not of the church but of Jesus Christ.
It is made ready for those who love Him
and who want to love Him more.
So come, you who have much faith and you who have little;
You who have been here often
and you who have not been for a long time or ever before;
You who have tried to follow and you who have failed;
Come, not because the church invites you;
It is Christ, and He invites you to meet Him here.

Music
Music is integral to our worship and a meaningful part of our Sunday morning service. Enthusiastic congregational singing is encouraged and supported by a fine Austin pipe organ. Our Choir of Men and Women is a talented group of adults who sing on Sundays plus other special services from September to June. With rehearsals on Thursday evenings, membership is open to all adults who love to sing and are committed to the music of the church.
Trinity's Senior Youth Choristers currently sing once a month with the Choir of Men and Women. This Choir is a member of the Royal School of Church Music in America and, as such, participates in the Voice for Life training program.
Re-Creation, a group of singers accompanied by guitar and piano, supplement the more formal choir with songs of contemporary Christian music during some of our Sunday services and our periodic outdoor services in the Summer.
The Taize Choir is a group of men and women leading worship in the style of Taizé. We gather prior to each of these prayerful (and musical) services to rehearse, then lead the congregation through the songs.
We’re very proud of our organ with its 2,369 pipes arranged in 43 ranks and made of tin-lead alloy, zinc, brass, poplar and mahogany. Our Austin Organ, Opus 2652, is the fourth instrument in the present Trinity Church building, but only the second pipe organ. The Austin organ was chosen from among the several possible builders because of a history of reliability, and because of the tonal beauty and versatility.

Baptisms, Weddings & Funerals
Bearing witness to and blessing times of transition is one of the most sacred roles that clergy play in church communities. All are welcomed to consider celebrating the sacraments of baptism, marriage, or burial at Trinity. Each of the sacraments represents a presentation of our lives to God; our lives with all their uniqueness and complexities. In order to help you plan a service that will be meaningful to you, it is important that the clergy at Trinity get to know you.
If you are interested in being baptized or having your child baptized, in getting married, or having a loved one buried from the church, please contact our church office at 203-426-9070 or trinity@trinitynewtownct.org to be in contact with the priest.
