The Gifts of Community
Beloved Ones,
God calls us to give joyfully - of our time, our talents and our treasure.
We are profoundly grateful for your sustaining generosity in supporting Trinity Church. We invite you again to share and to increase your financial gifts; supporting our ministries, our staff, and our buildings and grounds.
We have been re-gathering for over a year and a half, but we are still feeling repercussions of the pandemic. God calls us to strengthen our ministry teams, to serve effectively and faithfully. Therefore, we are shifting our annual stewardship appeal, asking you to prayerfully consider trying on a ministry in addition to making a financial commitment to Trinity. We invite you to share your energy, your experience and gifts. We need you!
Both Time and Talent are gifts from God and we’re called to share these gifts. Each moment is a new opportunity to turn to God, to recognize God’s presence, and commit to accepting God in our lives. God entrusts us with individual talents. As Christians, we are called to share our gifts through service and ministry.
Focusing on “The Gifts of Community”, we ask every member to prayerfully consider the following three questions:
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
Together, we receive the gifts of community. This autumn, we celebrate the presence and gifts of two delightful new staff members, Frances Chamberlain and Jennifer Sisco. What joy we feel to see young faces joining our Nursery and Sunday School! What Spirit we share as we encourage again congregational singing, and invite new voices to our Choir!
We are going deeper into our partnerships. With our Interfaith Partnership for Refugee Resettlement, we are settling in Newtown a family from Ukraine, and we are welcoming a family from El Salvador. We are delighted to host concerts again with the Connecticut Choral Society.
God invites us to give the gift of community to our neighbors in need.
We serve the hungry and homeless at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House and at Chapel on the Green in New Haven. Our outreach funds serve multiple community agencies and missions.
We will be offering weekly coffee hour presentations in the Glover Room on Oct 2nd, Oct 16th, Oct 23rd, Oct 30th, and Nov 6th. The sessions will allow ministry leaders to provide more information and provide you with a chance to ask questions. It is our hope the information sharing will enable all of you to make a commitment of time and talent.
Please join us for a Stewardship Dinner on Saturday, November 12th. We will celebrate our pledges Sunday, November 13th! With deep gratitude for the privilege of serving among you,
The Stewardship Committee

Focusing on “The Gifts of Community”, we ask every member to prayerfully consider the following three questions:
- What three things do I do well enough that I could teach to someone else?
- What three things would I like to learn that I don’t already know?
- Who Besides God will join me along my new ministry journey?
