Beloved Ones,
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. What a joy to welcome Bishop Ian Douglas this past weekend for Confirmation and Baptism and Visitation!
Believe the words of the ancient Hebrew prophet Isaiah:
Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly;
your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. (Is. 58:8)
God’s light is dawning. Healing and transformation are possible. God’s love encircles and surrounds us as comfort, as protection, as hope.
We see God’s light dawning - most clearly - in community. Surely, this is one lesson of pandemic – we need each other, we need spiritual community! We need Trinity Episcopal Church.
Friends, as new Rector in a time of trial, I celebrate the ways our parish is responding and adapting. Our Trinity Care Team is multiplying ways we care for one other. Our Tech Team brings worship, study and connection alive in new, virtual ways.
Our Genesis II Team practices the arts of invitation and welcome - as we ask again, ‘Why are we planted in this neighborhood, and how might we serve God’s people?’ A new Children’s Ministry Team is forming to complement our Youth Commission – how will we live our baptismal covenant in a new day?
Joy was palpable on Pentecost, when we opened our historic red doors again to communal worship. Joy is present in our outdoor Chapel in the Garden, new relationships forming. At Trinity, we are re-connecting, re-building, finding God’s Spirit in the present moment. We need each other to walk this journey of faith, to navigate challenges ahead.
I invite you to increase your financial commitment to Trinity Church. I invite you also to pledge your gifts of Spirit and energy. Let’s connect about ways God is calling you to engage.
I will be increasing my pledge. Why? Because I see God’s light in you – in your creativity and faithfulness, in your passion for justice and reconciliation, in your desire to serve our neighbors in need. Because you are kind, have a great sense of humor, and look for the good even in abundant challenges. Because you have been tested by tragedy before, and you live your faith and your grief in beautiful ways.
God’s light is dawning. Christ walks with us in all things: truly, the light shines in the darkness and the darkness will never overcome it. Pandemic is not behind us yet; change is still all around us. But as people of faith we know: the darkness just before dawn is when God is with us the most.
Please; give generously. Join me in building up this parish! Return your pledge card or sign one electronically by

I am so grateful for your generosity!
