Marriage in the church is the exchange of promises between partners, supported by the faith community, in the presence of and blessed by God. A couple enters into marriage because they believe that in relationship with their partner they will each be better able to live in an ever deepening and loving relationship with God, themselves and all people.
This understanding forms our approach to weddings: we focus on the marriage and work with couples to further strengthen their relationship in preparation for their lives together. Premarital counseling is part of this preparation in all cases and requires adequate (several months or more) notice in order to be completed with the necessary care. The Episcopal Church will perform marriages with a previously divorced partner after specific premarital work and with the approval of our bishop.
If you are interested in being married at Trinity, join us for worship to see if this is the faith community that you would like to call home, then make an appointment to talk to our priests.
