Classes for children up to 5 th grade meet most Sundays from September to June from 10 to 11 a.m. For information on programming for older students, please see the Youth Ministry page.

Goals
It is our hope that our Church School students, in addition to learning their lessons of faith, will learn to live them within the walls of Trinity, in the community of Newtown, and ultimately in the world at large.

Curriculum
Trinity uses The Episcopal Children's Curriculum to expose children to the entire breadth of both the Old and New Testaments as well as aspects of the Church and our worship life. Godly Play, and Living the Good News are also used to enrich and supplement the ECC lessons as well as storytelling, drama, crafts, and music.

Enrichment
Trinity also offers many enrichment activities and events that enliven and support the teaching of the Church School. These include a St. Francis Day Blessing of the Animals, a St. Nicholas Day Celebration, The Christmas Pageant, Annual Meeting Children’s Activities, Palm Sunday Children’s Way of the Cross, Good Friday Children's Service, Easter Sunday Egg Hunt, a Rogation Sunday/Earth Day, and an End of Year Celebration production and party.

Outreach
The Church School classes take on several outreach projects during the year, at least one community and one world project.

Children's Liturgy
Trinity offers its youngest Church School students from age three through Grade 2 their very own lectionary-based worship service. Children follow the Crucifer during the singing of the Gloria from the sanctuary to their "chapel" in the Undercroft for a reading of the day, a homily, creed, prayers, songs, and related activities. Children rejoin their parents upstairs at the Peace, so that families can celebrate Holy Communion together.

Nursery
Because Trinity is committed to sponsoring top-notch care for its parishioners, we have a paid employee in the nursery throughout the year. Parish volunteers are scheduled to assist our paid caregiver each week. The Nursery is downstairs on the right just through the glass doors when entering the back door of the building. Nursery care is available from 8:40 am to 12:15 p.m. The child's safety and the parents' peace of mind during worship are our primary concerns.

Registration
Church School registration is ongoing and your child(ren) may join classes at any time. Please call the Church School Office for more information at 203-426-5768.
