This month the Trinity Book Group is reading Life of the Beloved: Spiritual Living in a Secular World by Henri J.M. Nouwen. The discussion will take place on Friday, April 22 at 7pm, hosted and facilitated by Prudence Cooney. The Christian Formation Commission hopes you will enjoy this opportunity to socialize as well as further explore your faith journey. To sign up, email firstname.lastname@example.org or speak with Sophfronia Gregory or Nancy Cole. Copies of the book will be made available at the Booth Library on Main Street.
Publisher's Description: Initially written for a Jewish friend, Life of the Beloved has become Henri Nouwen’s greatest legacy to Christians around the world. This sincere testimony of the power and invitation of Christ is indeed a great guide to a truly uplifting spiritual life in today’s world.
When Nouwen was asked by a secular Jewish friend to explain his faith in simple language, he responded with his greatest legacy, Life of the Beloved, which shows that all people, believers and nonbelievers, are beloved by God unconditionally.
