Connecting to God and Each Other in Thriving Groups
What do you want most from your church life experience? Likely, you want to connect with God to be renewed, encouraged or comforted. At some level, you also want to connect with other members for fellowship, mutual encouragement, fun or even support. While attending the odd coffee hour or occasional church event can be meaningful, we all sense a need for something additional.
For this reason, Trinity will launch our new small group ministry this coming October. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for you to be enriched spiritually and encouraged as you meet regularly with a group of caring friends. These informal small groups may be meeting in homes or wherever the group decides. Through personal sharing, discussion around God's Word or study guides, you'll gain insights and helpful applications for your personal walk with the Lord.
To get us started we are looking for four people who are willing to serve as initial group leaders. They do not need to be small group experts or theologians or clergy! We are simply looking for a couple or individuals who will be willing to start the group and help it move ahead following the guidelines provided and using the resources the Christian Formation Commission will recommend. Our vision is that as a group develops its members will take turns leading. So we're not asking for a long-term leadership commitment, just that you be willing to get things going.
If you are interested in participating in or leading a small group please contact Sophfronia Scott (firstname.lastname@example.org), or Dan Bacon (email@example.com) to talk more about how they work and what might be involved.
